Nafisa Akabor

Nafisa Akabor is a freelance technology and electric vehicle journalist based in Johannesburg and a contributing writer for Naked. She writes for us on the EV market in South Africa, helping readers make sense of a category that's shifting almost month to month.

Nafisa has been covering tech since 2007, focusing on consumer and business tech and over the last 10 years, electric cars. Today she runs Recharged.co.za, an independent publication covering EVs, tech and digital life, and writes a regular newsletter called Tech Things. She also posts edutainment videos like tech tips, life hacks, EVs and travel content on her TikTok @nafisaakabor.

Her work has appeared in TechCentral, ITWeb, Forbes Woman Africa and Cars.co.za, and she currently contributes to Forbes Africa, Brainstorm, Financial Mail and Sawubona. She has served as a juror on the South African Car of the Year and the Cars.co.za Consumer Awards, and in 2017 was named one of the country's top 50 women in tech by the Inspiring Fifty programme.
